AWS Development & Cloud Services
Kawach Technology builds and runs custom applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Most of our client platforms are hosted on AWS, using services such as EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Auto Scaling, EKS and IoT Core, with infrastructure designed for security, cost control and growth.

What Is AWS and How We Use It
AWS is the largest public cloud platform, offering compute, managed databases, storage, content delivery, IoT and container services in regions worldwide, including the USA, UK and EU.
We use AWS as the default home for the applications we build: from a straightforward EC2 + RDS setup for a business system, to auto-scaling e-commerce infrastructure, Kubernetes on EKS for a SaaS platform, and IoT Core for GPS device ingestion. We design the infrastructure alongside the application, not as an afterthought.
What We Build With AWS
Application Hosting
Production environments on EC2, RDS and S3 with backups, monitoring and CloudFront CDN.
Auto-Scaling Platforms
Infrastructure that scales for traffic peaks, such as Urban Threads' festive-season traffic.
Kubernetes on EKS
Containerised SaaS platforms with CI/CD, as used for Meridian Flow Technologies.
IoT Ingestion
Device data ingestion with AWS IoT Core, as used for SwiftCargo's GPS devices.
Isolated, Secure Environments
Isolated VPCs, encrypted databases and storage for regulated data, as used for QuickFund.
Cloud Migration & Modernisation
Move legacy or on-premise applications to AWS in planned stages.

Explore SaaS DevelopmentWhen to Use AWS, and When Not To
We recommend a technology because it fits your problem, not because it is the one we are selling.
AWS is a good fit when
- You need a reliable, well-supported default cloud for a new application.
- Traffic is variable or seasonal and needs auto scaling.
- You want managed databases, storage and CDN rather than running your own servers.
Consider alternatives when
- Your organisation is standardised on Microsoft (Entra ID, Microsoft 365, existing Azure agreements); Azure may integrate more simply.
- A very small, static site where simpler hosting is enough.
How We Engineer AWS Projects
Architecture
- Infrastructure as code so environments are reproducible and reviewable.
- Separate environments (development, staging, production) and least-privilege IAM.
- Managed databases with automated backups and point-in-time recovery.
- Cost monitoring and right-sizing from launch, not after the first large bill.
Security
- Private networking (VPCs), security groups and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Least-privilege IAM roles, MFA and audit logging with CloudTrail.
- Secrets kept in managed secret stores, not in code or servers.
Scalability
- Auto Scaling groups or containers behind load balancers.
- CloudFront CDN for static assets and media.
- Read replicas and caching (Redis) before costly database upgrades.

Often Used Alongside AWS
AWS Development: Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only build on AWS, or can you manage an existing AWS account?
Both. We build new AWS environments for the applications we develop, and we can review and take over an existing account, starting with a security, reliability and cost review.
Can you migrate our application to AWS?
Yes. We plan migrations in stages, starting with the lowest-risk components, and move data with a tested rollback plan. See our software modernization and cloud & DevOps services.
AWS or Azure?
AWS is our default for most new applications. Azure is often the better fit for organisations already invested in Microsoft, or for specific services like Azure IoT Hub. We have delivered projects on both.
How do you keep AWS costs under control?
Right-sized instances, auto scaling, storage lifecycle rules, budget alerts and regular cost reviews. We would rather design for cost from the start than optimise after an unexpected bill.
Who owns the AWS account?
We recommend it is always your business. We can work inside an AWS account you own, with access you can revoke at any time.
