What Is Azure and How We Use It
Microsoft Azure is Microsoft's cloud platform, offering compute, managed databases, IoT, identity and data services, with regions across Europe, the UK and the US. It integrates closely with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Microsoft 365 and existing Windows/.NET estates.
We choose Azure when a client is already a Microsoft organisation, when services such as Azure IoT Hub fit the problem well, or when a European client prefers Azure's EU regions for data residency. Both of our Azure case studies are EU industrial and mobility IoT platforms.

Why choose Azure over AWS?
Mainly when you are already a Microsoft organisation, need Entra ID single sign-on, or when Azure services such as IoT Hub fit the problem. Otherwise AWS is usually our default. We are comfortable with both.
Can you keep our data in the EU on Azure?
Yes. Both of our Azure case studies (Nordholt Manufacturing in Germany and Fjordlight Mobility in Sweden) run in EU regions. Specific regulatory obligations should be confirmed with your legal or compliance team.
Can you connect factory equipment to Azure?
Yes. For Nordholt Manufacturing we connected shop-floor sensors via MQTT and on-premise edge gateways to Azure IoT Hub, feeding a predictive-maintenance model.
Can you migrate on-premise systems to Azure?
